Would it detect the new video settings when I hook it up to a new tv?

So say I lose my remote (which I tend to be an organized person). If I get a new Iphone, would pairing be the same?

We move them all the time. We have quite a few. Wait, that sounds weird. ;) We also have several in the RV and they are always moving across borders. Everything seems to work.

It doesn’t lose information because you unplugged it. It stays exactly the same. You’ll just have to connect it to a different WiFi network.

I took my Apple TV to Singapore (from Australia) and it was just plug and play. No hassle at all. And as long as you’re on the same wifi network, iPhone remote works fine. You can also buy a replacement remote, or scavenge one on eBay / Gumtree whatever.
