Apple sent out invites yesterday for a pre-Halloween Mac announcement. The MacBook Pro is believed most likely to get updated at the event, but honestly iMac is likely not out of the question or maybe even MacBook Air. So to avoid buyer’s remorse, maybe wait until after October 30th to buy a new machine.
Dang 3 weeks ago I bought my MacBook M2 Pro 14” thinking that they weren’t releasing the M3 lmaoooo
If your return period has lapsed they won’t refund you but they will probably allow you to exchange it against an equivalent M3 machine. Talk to a specialist in store and they can ask a manager. Can’t guarantee this’ll work but so long as it’s an exchange as opposed to a refund they may well make an exception. That’s assuming we even get an update to the MBP line. I think the iMac is a much more likely candidate for an M3 update but who knows.
I mean I played around with a M2 Pro at the store a few weeks ago and it was the fastest computer I’ve ever played around with, at least for opening apps and doing stuff. So you should probably be happy with it for years to come. I’m still using a 2013 MacBook Air, so if they announce something and I jump on it, hopefully I too can get many years out of it.
Prefer my 11 inch 2013 MacBook Air to my 13 inch 2020 MacBook Air.
Do macbooks really last that long? Damn. That’s impressive.
It’s the only reason I buy them. I’m not a fan of macos or laptops in general, but my 2012 MacBook Air still works even though I’ve moved on.
I still use my 2010 iMac I bought in January 2011. It’s my only computer.
Yes! (sent from my 2012 13 inch “thiccc” boy)
It still works perfectly.
They can, although you’ll hear plenty of stories about them failing, or people spilling coffee or something on them so they don’t. But a lot of buyers baby their machines, so it’s absolutely possible. Not sure how fast they would be at this point, probably more suited to casual web browsing or streaming services, but they can last awhile.
My mother didn’t really pay a lot of attention to her macbook and it stills works after 9 years (i think).
stupid move, you should have waited 5 years for the M7 chips to come out, they will be much faster than the M2s /s
