It’s been semi reliable up until now, but I’ve just spent so many hours pulling rivets out of the keyboard and tearing it up so I can put the new one in, this is the only way it’s possible to replace the keyboard without buying a whole new chassis.
This was gifted to me in 2021 and is a 2017 macbook pro, 13 inch, so I’m not able to take it back to the apple store for a free replacement.
I wonder if apple could have made it a little easier to repair, perhaps not riveting the keyboard in place!
I can’t imagine how difficult and time consuming it must have been for all the techs to do this repair, one after another, all due to the awkward way apple decided put this keyboard in.
