On your device, you can go to Settings > General > Software Update and at the top there will be an option for beta updates. Tap that and you can select the public beta or developer beta. You can also check out the Apple Beta Software Program site as well.

      I hope this helps.

They have until March 2024 to bring sideloading to EU iPhones or they will be pulled from the market as stated in the law.

I want to be able to sideload, I think Apple’s restrictions are dumb and I should be able to install anything I want on the device that I own.

That said, I’m deeply concerned that the government just has the right to yank something off the market. Unless it’s unsafe, exploits children, is designed to perform criminal activity, etc. I think it’s deeply troubling that the government has this much power.

I mean, the government can pull your product off the market if you break the law.

Don’t break the law and you are allowed to sell whatever you want.

This is not how it should work. This has been abused before.

the next generation CarPlay thing? You have to specifically buy a new car for that

Apple says the first vehicles with support for the next-generation CarPlay experience will be announced in late 2023, with committed automakers including Acura, Audi, Ford, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Volvo, and others.

Oh you mean that feature where if I wore a jacket my sleeve would change my watch face all the time? Yeah. Not coming back. Thank god

I agree with your sentiment. It’s not like it is a huge change to hold it down for a couple of seconds to swipe to a different face, but for someone in my profession as a pet stylist, it was obnoxious looking down to see that a pet grazing my arm or water from a bath had changed it. It’s better this way in my humble opinion. Less likely to accidentally go to a different face when many times I need to be able to look at something at a glance.

That new TVos TV update is pretty interesting. I wonder if that side menu is only the “channels” subscribed to in the TV app through Apple, or any 3rd party compatible streaming at, regardless of how the subscription works.

The new weather widget that shows the five day forecast in the smaller size is something I have been wanting for awhile. Will free up some more widget space on my home screens.

don’t install iOS 17.2 if you’re on French “Free mobile” carrier

SMS emission don’t work any more (thanks to Apple forcing LTE SMS)

SMS reception works only in wifi

Apple and Free mobile carrier know the issue.

    see below:

MAJ : pour contourner le problème, activer les Appels Wi-Fi dans les réglages et être connecté à un réseau Wi-Fi, les SMS sont OK dans ce cas

Free est au courant du problème
