Hi guys,

I have an iPad 9 gen I use mostly for watching Netflix, Prime Video, YT, etc and some very light internet browsing.

The screen on the iPad is mediocre and its aspect ratio is awful for watching any modern shows or movies.

I also have a 15" windows laptop (Matebook D15 2018) that I use it very rarely, maybe once or twice a month, but it’s a bit too big, heavy and boots up to slow for me to use on daily basis. Also the battery last maybe 2,5-3h.

So I was thinking of selling the iPad and laptop to get a pre-owned Air M1 2020.

I read that M1 supports iPad apps. Can I download Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, etc on Macbook to be able to watch stuff offline?

Yeah, I read somewhere not all apps are supported, but couldn’t find anything about streaming apps.

I wanted to be able to watch stuff offline without resorting to good ol’ piracy.

Unfortunately to watch offline you need iPad or iPhone app, there is not support for downloading content from streaming services on Mac computers.

The only platform I’m unsure about it YouTube premium, because I’ve never used it. For your use case I’d probably just upgrade the iPad
