Like read a dictionary, do you even know what the word means? Smartphone design has more or less stabilised and unless holographic hard light devices, like the ones we see in movies, are invented, I don’t think there is anything left to be done on the hardware side expect adding gimmicks every now and then.
It’s just something terminally online people do. Take any successful thing and you’ll find people trying to diminish the success by saying it’s not this or that. I’ve read people online saying Taylor Swift’s success isn’t “impressive” because it’s mainly US based and she doesn’t sell a million album in Katmandu. Or a Marvel movie wasn’t successful because it didn’t get nominated for an Academy Award despite breaking box office records.
And look at the phone makers that have come out with “innovation” and see where that innovation is now. Whatever happened to pop up cameras? Or ones under the display? That’s right, they stopped being used because the tech isn’t ready for the spotlight. It leads to a subpar experience, and the 1 thing Apple actually cares about when it comes to their devices is the experience the user has with their products. Of course Apple could throw in some new gimmick every year, but they have a long-term vision for the iPhone. They don’t add things just for the sake of saying they have something new, like some OEMs have done
Tbh, popup cameras seemed awesome, the only thing that bothered me when I tried one is whether it would break
