After I updated my Series 8 to watchOS 10.1 I had terrible battery drain. Something like losing 10% in 20 minutes.
I tried to force a restart (if you’ve never done hold the Digital Crown and the side button together until the Apple Logo pops up).
After that things got back to normal. Lost about 11% with an hour of GPS workout, which would equate to a bit more than the 7 hours of GPS workouts that Apple states (and I’m on 98% battery health).
Any info on when this will be fixed? I’m holding up on updating until they fix this…
I tried a few of the suggestions offered in this thread and the only real solution that helped me with my issue was trying out the public beta watchOS 10.2 update. This is also after restarting and unpairing the watch from my phone.
After the 10.01 update my series 7 battery would go from full charge to lass than 10% within 3 hours. I tried the hard restart, put my watch back on the charger and the same thing would happen. Finally I unpaired the watch and paired it back and the problem has been fixed.
If you have the MobyFaces app, uninstall it. It worked for me and many others.
worked for me as well Series 7
I tried the restart.
It didn’t resolve the issue.
I go to bed last night with it fully charged and woke to my Ultra at 50%.
The kicker is its discharging at a faster rate than it charges.
I’ve resorted to resurrecting my Series 5 until Apple puts out a fix for this.
I bought the SE2 less than a month ago and this is the second update that messed up my battery life.
I somehow managed to get out of it 36 hours of use before getting to 20%, after the first update and now in 12 hours battery is dead again.Do i have to expect this hell with every update?? I’m a long time Apple user but I never witnessed this kind of fuck up until I got the AW.
I uninstalled all third party apps and updated to developer 10.2, seems to have fixed it (mostly) on my AWU.
Same thing has happened with my SE. I don’t wear it at night and the battery is still somehow dropping by 30% or more.
I had the same issue and also had problems with apps working on the watch like YouTube Music (wouldn’t sync or just have an error message). Tried all kinds is settings changes, repaired multiple times, both from a saved back up and as a new watch setup. No luck and battery continued to drain at a rapid rate. Finally did the suggestion of removing the Moby app on the phone and boom. No longer have any issues. How does one app cause so much trouble?! Thanks to those who suggested that.
