It is with out deepest regret to inform you that we, as moderators and of ultimate hunters of truth have failed you, our community.

You may be wondering what we have been doing while this sub has been dark. The answer is an odyssey so dark and rich in content that a single reddit post could not capture the extent. We travelled the world, investigating whispers of events that have definitely happened… and some that did not. There was intrigue. There were Nazis. Imagine Indiana Jones (pt I) mixed with Training Day mixed with Magic Mike, that’s pretty much how it was. In these journeys, an incredibly disturbing truth was revealed:

Germany. 1938. A university class in session. A young student feverishly argues with their professor on the existence of God appealing to the nature of darkness, light, good and evil. Upon the ultimate revelation of the student’s brilliance, the professor, dumbfounded, sits down in defeat. The young student proudly sits down, confident in their brilliance.

And that young student’s name?.. … was NOT Albert Einstein. It was actually JON OLIVER. And that professors name, who went on to be one of the chief architects of the holocaust? /u/spez. Considering HOW LONG we have been perpetuating the ABSOLUTE LIE that it was Albert Einstein instead of Jon Oliver, we had to review countless posts in thatHappened. Left and right, the truthiness of the stories were suddenly coming into doubt. The condoms were NOT under the sink, they were IN THE COOKIE JAR. With the world crumbling around us, and given the fact that this sub has ALWAYS since it’s inception been for 100% true stories that totally happened, it is UNTENNABLE for us to maintain content in this community that violates this rule.

The Reddit Inc. team has been consistently threatening us to open our community, and have been threatening other communities who have changed their rules since re-opening. Because HAIL /U/SPEZ, we know not to mess around (we know what happened to the last group of people that got on his bad side) and so we will be re-opening and will be STRICTLY enforcing the rules that have ALWAYS existed on this sub: stories must be true.

In order to ensure that all stories are indeed true, we will be restricting posts to be links to wikipedia articles. In this way, we can ensure that the stories posted are INDEED true because they will have gone through the vigor’s of peer review.

Rule 1: All posts must be verifiably true. If there isn’t a wiki link, it will be rejected.

Rule 2: Titles can only be “That Happened”
