I’m currently commuting around 12 km one way, which takes me 30 minutes. How long is your commute?

When I was young, we rode bicycles everywhere. Then in my 20s, I was spending hours in a car everyday in commute. I missed riding places like in my youth.

        Now I live different :)

I’ll bike 20 to 30 miles a couple times a week with an average speed of 12.7 to 13 miles an hour

I ride a little under 20km each way, takes just over an hour, and that is about the same as transit, but transit only has very limited times it runs. I only do the whole thing one way a couple times a week and I’ll multimodal the other way. Usually its a mix both ways. (Edit: converted to metric)

Technically 20km but I take the train for most of that, so it ends up only ~5km.

Mine is only about 6 miles each way, and I only make it twice a month, 3x tops (still mostly remote). But my exercise commute takes me 10-35 miles at least once a week!

Nice, that’s a pretty manageable distance.

But my exercise commute takes me 10-35 miles at least once a week!

As in, to the gym, or something of the sort?

No I just meant that I bike recreationally 10-35 miles per week. So like I’m commuting just for exercise.

In retrospect it wasn’t well thought out.

One way about 1h10min - by car it’s 45min, so i get 2h20min of exercise by investing 50min of time :-)

Most of the way the motor is off because I’m pedaling at about 29 km/h in the flats.

          Good stuff.

The total time for me to get to work with the bike vs taking transit is also slightly higher, but I do make it up in the fact that I get great exercise, and save a little bit on the cost of transit. Plus, listening to podcasts on the bike is a perfect combination for me.

Around 6 miles that takes 30 minutes one-way. Though usually the unoptimized traffic lights make it take a little longer.

I’m mostly work from home, but when I need to go to the office it’s about 10 miles each way. Takes me 40-45 minutes. Now that school has let out for the summer, I’ll have a couple of weeks where I need to take my kids to their various day camps. Looks like that will be about the same total mileage, except on my cargo bike.

Just under 2 miles one way, so like 7-9 minutes. Short enough that I can do it year-round with little weather-related concern
