So I have been self employed since July 2021, prior to that was employed. I got Married to my husband in March 2022.

I only work part time, so don’t earn up to the £12,570 meaning I am eligible to apply for marriage allowance.

I’m currently trying to apply online and the form asks me if I want to apply for the current tax year (6 April 2023 onwards) to which I click yes. It then says I can apply for previous years and have it backdated. However it only asks me about 2021/2022 which is the year I left my job and earned over £12,570 so I am not eligible. So I click ‘no’ for that year and then asks me to check and submit the form. It’s not asking me if I want to apply for 2022/2023, for which year I am eligible. So whats going on? Error on the form? Or am I being daft and missing something?
