I finally decided to switch and I got my iPhone yesterday and let me tell you: WOAH.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved my S22U but the smoothness of iOS and just how clean and interactive everything is has no comparison.
There’s still a few things that I think android does better (notifications, I’m looking at you) but overall I am very happy with the switch and I can’t wait to be absorbed by the ecosystem.
I would like to get some of your recommendations for best apps in these categories:
3rd party camera: I like to use advanced features when taking photos so I’m looking for your recommendations
Photo editor: which ones are your top choices? Is Lightroom the best?
Productivity: Notes and reminders app mainly or do you prefer the native apps?
Thank you! :)
Congrats on the downgrade!! Regretting the move I made from S22 to the 15 since the touchscreen is just horrible
For all those users who are downvoting my vote, I hope you all get the privilege of facing the same touchscreen issues I along with 1000s of of 15 users are facing
The keyboard is going to take time to get used to. 1 month and I’m still finding it hard.
Truecaller
I’ve been using gboard in my iPhone 15 PM
I did the sams switch but went from the reg s22 and to thr 15pro!! Almodt everything felt like right at home with IOS. IOS is just more fluent
I just recently got darkroom. The thing I like most is that you can make a lifetime purchase vs the damn subscription model. I’m not sure how it compares to Lightroom but just throwing that out there
Blackmagic Cam for video. Allows 4K-60 ProRes Log internally. Don’t need to expand to SDD
Adobe Lightroom for photo editing
I really like Apples reminders app. It can be really powerful once you spend some time on it. Same with the notes app. And I like them bc they integrate so well with other first party apps.
All apps are smoother on iOS
Welcome to the Dark Side
The native notes app is pretty good now I use to use standard notes as a good alternative. You would’ve loved Apollo but you a few months too late.
I’d also ask over in r/apple it tends to get more traffic
Just on notifications. Yes iOS is awful with them but what I found when i made the jump is that not every notification is important or needs to be done now. On Android it was feeling like i was checking notifications every time the phone beeps. With iOS notifications you just tend to ignore them or don’t threat them as urgent like you do with android. Using an Iphone has in fact made me feel like i don’t have to check every time my phone beeps etc or look at each notification as they come in etc. The reason for this I think is because when you pull down control center you are not hit with all the notifications like when you do the pull down from android.
Just my 2 cents anyway
Not exactly about this, but have you had any kind of speaker issues on your 15 Pro Max? My earpiece crackles when on specific sounds. This can be reproduced with “Sunroof” on Apple Music or Spotify. The first seconds of it on max value demonstrates perfectly what I am talking about. I just want to know if it’s just me or if everyone has it.
You’ll be back on your S22 (or another Android) inside of 3 months. Tale as old as time for these posts. Once the newness honeymoon period wears off the annoyances you are currently ignoring will become too much and back you go…
I always hear the notification management argument but why do you think it’s so bad on iOS? It’s never been that much different for me between the two OS’s.
Welcome! Check out Halide in the App Store, very good camera app.
