My Apple TV 4K connected to Sony a80l hdmi 2 and Samsung Atmos soundbar connected to tv earc hdmi3. Native Netflix app on tv can output Atmos signal to soundbar. But Netflix on Apple TV 4K failed to output Atmos signal to soundbar. Tried auto pass through and disabled auto pass through still no luck. The only solution as of now is connect Apple TV 4K directly to my soundbar. Can someone help me how to figure out the correct settings to enable Atmos signal output from Apple TV 4K via tv earc to soundbar? The same configuration was used with my old tv LG GX oled and it was working flawlessly.

I had a similar set-up, Apple TV 4K and Q-950T, and the only way I found to get the Atmos was to hook it up straight to the soundbar.

Spent too many hours playing with the multi set ups, but the only way was straight to the soundbar.
Let us know if you find a different way, because there are lots of people out there looking for this alternative.

If you get Atmos connected directly to the soundbar then the issue isnt on the Apple TV, but on the TV itself, you may need to use the Enhanced Format setting on the HDMI.

According to Rtings you need to set Digital audio out to Auto 1 and enable passthrough auto mode.

I had the same issue as you but on a LG tv. To fix it I had to connect my Apple TV directly to the HDMI passthrough port of the soundbar and then the soundbar to the TV.

Connecting the Apple TV to one of the HDMI 2.1 ports of the TV also did fix the problem. When using the HDMI 2.0 ones, never got the option to enable Dolby Atmos.

    Hope that helps

Not an option for me as my tv only has 2 hdmi 2.1 ports. One used as earc and another one is occupied by ps5. Guess I’ll stick to direct connect to my soundbar. ☹️
