Honest question: how do folks use different browsers on their phones than their computers??? I love having all of my browsing history, bookmarks, etc. under one roof, and the ability to continue browsing and research on another device than where I started.

I do not like that the only thing I want to transfer is passwords and I have 1password to do that for me. Otherwise I don’t want no SEO bullshit or continuously saving and filling the wrong password.

I use safari on my phone and it’s always in private mode. I do not want all the BS I search to be in my history.

It’s usually random thoughts which lead to something I don’t know and I whip out my phone to do a quick search.

Because I find safari to be terrible. But on iPhone it’s the only one with a good extension system.

For bookmark I use raindrop, history won’t sync across browser but that is not a major issue for me. As for continuity it will work no matter what browser you use under Apple ecosystem. It automatically redirects it to the default one

I use Firefox on my pc and Safari on my phone. I rarely need to continue things on different devices but when i need I’ll just use my Firefox app on my phone.

Here’s the thing: I use Google Chrome on my desktop, but still use Safari on my iPhone, and while it’s been working for my usage it’s far from being ideal.

I don’t use macOS as my desktop OS, and I use Google Chrome because a lot of the web tools I use work best on it, and not to mention it has better extensions support, with ublock setup as an absolute must. In the past when I used macOS, Safari would complain that a specific tab is using too much resources and would automatically reload the tab when I was in the middle of working on something, which was SUPER annoying.

But on iPhone, I’m essentially forced to use Safari because it’s the only browser that has better third party content blockers support, as Chrome on iOS lacks this feature and I refuse to browse the web without any adblockers. I’ve tried other iOS browsers like Brave, Edge, and even Vivaldi which has adblocker support built-in, but I still found that ads would still worm its way in making it a huge dealbreaker for me.

As for my bookmarks, browsing history, and tabs? Well I have it scattered between both browsers and it’s an absolute mess lol. If I’m working on my desktop and need to open the same tab on my iPhone, I just load up Chrome on iOS, and copy and paste the tab from the sync section and paste it into Safari.
