Oh, they switched the servers at work from CentOS to Ubuntu and I was suddenly getting bugs that were only happening on my system, or bugs that happened on the development/QA servers and on coworkers machines but not mine. I needed to use a more similar distro in order to do my job.
Sometimes being practical wins out over personal preference unfortunately.
That was my diatro of choice from 2006 until around 2014.
