I don`t currently own any Apple products and I plan on buying a Macbook. Is it worth it if I don`t have any other Apple products ? For context: I need it for programming and video editing.

It’s completely fine if you don’t have iPhone or AirPods… That would be nice but it’s not like you’ll get an android ecosystem if you buy a pc…

Yes! I have Macs and PCs and I never use pc to video edit anymore. I prefer to use Final Cut Pro on my MBP.

Edit to add: I don’t think owning other Apple devices matter. You can still enjoy a Mac without having an iPhone lol

I prefer coding on my Macbook over my gaming PC. In my opinion, Macbooks are designed for work > play, and it puts me in that mindset!

If it fits your needs yes. I had a MacBook for 5+ years before I got an iPhone or any other Apple product for that matter.

Will you lose out on some quality of life features like airdrop? Yes. But there are third party solutions to get past that if you wish. I used push bullet(now defunct) for text message, notification and file forwarding between my MacBook and my android phone for years. It was nowhere near as smooth as iMessage and airdrop but it worked fine. A lot of midrange to high end headphones support dual connections so you have a slightly jankier version of the AirPod device switching. I have the AirPod pros and tbh they aren’t that much better with switching sometimes.

Just a warning, once you get to your second Apple device you’ll get sucked in. I went from an Apple hater to having 5 Apple devices cause the ecosystem is just so fluid.

I am far from being Apple hater I just don`t use my phone for nothing more than talking, chatting and listening to music so an Iphone is an excess at this point but since I am programming a Mac would have very good impact on my performance I think :D
