I know this happens if the battery swells up, but I do not see a spicy pillow in there. That battery is flush with the Digital Crown reader, and it only pops out if I shift the screen away from the Digital Crown (towards the connector). It’s an S1 circa mid-2017, at one point I replaced the screen on it (myself, not got a refurb watch from Apple) which is probably related. It’s also no longer my primary watch, it’s a sleep tracker and a backup in case I forget to charge up my S6 overnight. Lucky bonus, if I do need to replace the battery, the Force Touch sensor is still good so I can reuse that.

Yep. Had this exact same problem with the S0. Apple replaced it with an S1 free of charge.

When you replaced the first battery did you use a new seal or try to reuse the old one? I did the battery in my wife’s S0 years ago and getting the seal just right was tricky.

Apple offered a free replacement for Series 0/1 as this was a known defect…that was however back in 2015/16…No Idea if they still honor this…doubtful but worth a try

Happened to my S3 about 2 years ago. Apple replaced it with another S3 free of charge even out of any warranty. My watch was about 3-4 years old at that time.

Not sure if they would still do anything like this at this time though.

I had the problem on my apple watch 6, I think I banged it on the side. First replaced with a “glue seal” did not work and happened again, then I glued it. The battery had not expanded. I ended up getting the new ultra
