Hello,

I have a friend who’s relative works at Apple and is able to get me 15% off for the new IPhone 15PM.

The only thing is they have to buy it themselves through Apple, I’ll pay them through venmo/check and then they’ll give me the phone.

I know this is a silly question, but is there any issues I should consider on my end?

It’s a trusted friend and relative, but for example, lets say we stop being friends or the relative and friend have an argument. For whatever reason, could they do something to get the phone back?

Some extra info:
-I dont want AppleCare
-My carrier is AT&T
-I want to buy it in full

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’ve never gotten a phone this way.

My friend gets this deal every couple years from her friend who is an Apple employee. No issues at all.

Veteran’s, active military get 10% off any Apple product. Just go thru verification of military service via www.IDME.com Any Apple employee will walk you thru the steps

lets say we stop being friends or the relative and friend have an argument.

Sounds like an ongoing soap opera.

…or did you do something to this “friend-of-the-relative”?

    So many questions…

Lol no, no soap opera. It’s someone I’ve been friends with a long time and the relative is someone I’ve met a few times. I just overthink stuff, but I would rather do that and clear any concerns.

I don’t see any problem coming out from this. Enjoy your new phone soon then!

I also bought my 15 pro max from Facebook marketplace. As long as you are careful and you know how to spot a fake iPhone it should not need a problem. Also test the phone thoroughly before buying

Hard to believe you trust someone, but not enough, to ask this. At any rate this is the wrong subreddit.

Pass. If this goes sideways, it will be beyond the “friend’s” relative’s ability to fix it and you have the most to lose.
