because the mod team of superstonk is corrupt and does not want people talking about certain subjects. they also believe there should be no community interconnectedness. nobody is allowed to talk about anything outside of the permitted boundaries of discussion, and even associating with communities or subreddits outside of superstonk is grounds for being banned there.

those mods have demonstrated a pattern of behavior of censorship of, among other subjects, anything at all related to the BBBY saga. https://lemmy.world/post/5613015

Is there another way to frame it without violating their rules? I could not think of one…

Not that I could see, but authoritarian assholes hate it when you point out theyre authoritarian assholes. So maybe just delete the whole last sentence? Or just not post in there in general

Seems like they got you on the implied information. That place has the equivalent brain drain as North Korea. Probably exactly as intended.

To be fair (haha, not) you had a target on your back being on thePpshow so often. I’m sure one or more mods was watching and waiting for you to post something even remotely close to being a reason for a ban.

Unreal. What a sorry state superstonk has become. I’m not banned despite some close calls, so I’m going to hold on until this thing goes nuts before i get banned for some I told you so

Onward and upward. Coming to lemmy did remind me of when I first started using Reddit back in 2011. Changing everything to dark mode and lists instead of cards. Only reason I haven’t been banned yet on SS is because I left and never went back.

I got banned from BBBY for calling out shills and it was called “doxxing” even though the most I did was post screenshots of other Reddit comments they made as evidence. All of Reddit eventually gets compromised anymore. Eventually it escalated to me being banned from Reddit as a whole becuase I created a new account to continue calling out shills in BBBY. They don’t care about the shills, just anyone who’s clever enough to notice them. Need to keep the illusion of fairness, tough to do when people call out their bullshit so they just ban them. I was on Reddit for 15 years with 200k karma, now my IP address is banned for life. To be fair I broke the TaC’s by making another account but it’s still bullshit becuase the original reason I was banned wasn’t justified. Fuck them, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

    Hilarious.

Ross i think you roasted somebody’s ego too hard last night without even saying any names. In retaliation, you’ve now been banned from superstonk.

The hilarious part to me is that I was poking at an online persona that isn’t their real identity! I mean, I learned a long time ago that a sufficiently motivated bad actor can get to doxxing anyone, so you have power by being transparent to who you actually are. Your fake avatar that isn’t connected to your actual life got punched for being a jackass? And you take this personally?

I’ve got bad actors in my dm on Reddit and Twitter asking me “Does your boss at Oracle know you are active in here?!” (Yes) or “is this your official Oracle Twitter account that you are posting this shit on?!” (No, the official Oracle accounts clearly say Oracle and this is my private account and completely in line with their social media rules).

My advice to everyone is dox yourself to gain power. Anonymous voices are easy to dismiss, real people with identities vote, shop and protest more effectively. It also reduces your ability to be a complete dick to others and that’s not a bad thing.

For the record, I don’t think most of the mods there are compromised by being bought out; it’s far easier to compromise people by getting their egos aligned to your purpose.

      generic meme mush

      great description, you’re completely right.

Also i think almost everyone here probably knows this, but wallstreetbets banned GME in November 2022. What possible good faith reason could exist for implementing such a restriction?

“Hi, welcome to the casino. you can gamble your money on any one these fine ~ 7000 stocks.”

      “Nice, I’ll take some GME.”

      “No, not that one”

Mods over there have been compromised a long time ago.

Imagine labeling yourself as an advocate for retail investors, yet simultaneously endorsing by liking a space call featuring Doug Cifu, explicitly designed to harass and attack a group of investors.

It is, quite literally, no different than endorsing a space with Ken Griffin.

Add to this the fact that you’re a moderator of a sizable investors’ discussion forum.

I’m genuinely curious what the superstonk users will think when we’re given cash and/or equity. Will they revolt? Will they care that the wool has been pulled over their eyes?

They’ll have no one to blame but themselves, on an individual level. Anyone that wasn’t aware enough to realize that they were trapped in a sub pushing a curated narrative - well that’s their own fault.

In all honesty, I’m surprised you made it this long without the ban hammer dropping. It’s just more proof that anyone can outlive their usefulness, if they move outside the carefully cultivated paradigm of that sub. The “noose” has been tightening for 2 years at this point. They’ve taken the most threatening amalgamation of individual investors and neutered the community by only allowing research that specifically fits a predetermined mold. The whole sub is DRS posts and calls to action for comments on reg agencies proposals. The mods have taken the largest threat to the financial industry and turned it into an “online protest” more useless than the occupy Wall Street movement.

So weak. Those moderators egos are so very fragile or the entire mod team is beholden to the most strict guidelines by their corporate overlords that, yes, this was inevitable. I enjoy watching you push the boundaries though so it’s easier to see how narrow the threshold is. Thx Ross the boss.

Not really an option now, is it? Anymore than the notion of “you are telling people to buy a bankrupt stock” makes any sense, but there it is.

Have a hard time seeing how that warrants a perma ban. Abuse of mod power targeting active PP’s, they know what’s coming and are ultimately worried about losing control. Tik-tok.
