I sort of get the context, with Christianity treading upon the Genesis depiction of Satan. For my evangelical friends, yeah, it should be Jesus treading, not Mary, but oh well, we’ll let that one slide for now.
Now for the 🤓 “ackshually”
The imagery, however, is incongruent with the historical use of the Gadsden flag, which to my knowledge has been traditionally interpreted as mostly pro-religion citizens, so Mary is treading on fellow Christians? Should have used a different snake, in my opinion. But, I recognize an attempt was made. This one unfortunately falls under the “the right can’t meme” category for me.
I’ve seen this in my feed, and am scratching my head about what it’s trying to say.
Is this about the incompatibility between the church and libertarianism? Is it taking a side? I’m confused.
i think it’s about the bible passage which predicts about Jesus. The snake is the devil and Mary who birthed Jesus is stepping on it.

That whole category fascinates me. I wonder if the ideology is just immune to irony because it has no aversion to holding contradictory ideas.
Mary does what she wants. Fortunately she wants to do the will of God, but she gets it done.
