I was gifted an iPhone 15 Pro, delivered yesterday morning, by yesterday evening it was being sent back (Network couldn’t sort out my contract).
But during this time I got to play with it, I was upgrading for an iPhone 11 (normal, not pro) and was so excited for the huge difference, but I just didn’t feel it?!
Do you feel you’ve had a big difference from your previous upgrade? I took the same photo on my 11 and 15th and unless you zoomed in, you couldn’t really see the difference. The sound quality on the 15pro I could hear every breath when recording and I also felt like white colours were ‘too strong’ on the screen making videos/photos feel fake on the 15 pro compared to read on the 11. Are you noticing any of these? Did I just not get to play long enough?
Upgrading from 7 to 11 felt HUGE and I was expecting that again, especially with this being a Pro model.
I went from an iPhone 8 to 14 Pro and it was a massive difference. Almost everything about the phones is different.
I went from Samsung to iPhone 11, I was shocked when I took a selfie
from iphone 8 to 12. my life is different now.
I went from an iPhone first gen to a 14 pro, no difference
Went from XS to 14 Pro and didn’t feel much different. But then 2 weeks later trying the XS out again and difference was huge.
Went from iPhone 6 to XR, actually more like iphone 6 to Samsung galaxy A10e to iphone XR
same bro. battery life, size, pro motion, and it just felt faster in general.
Ha I went from a iphone 8 to iphone 15 pro. From nearly useful to way to much for my needs
I’m still holding on to my iPhone 8. Hope to upgrade when 16 or 17 comes out.
i’m still rocking an iphone 5 for the moment because the michrophone isn’t working on my iphone 8
iPhone 8 Plus was the best iPhone I’ve ever had. Currently have a 14 pro max
Will it be the regular models or the Pro’s, you reckon it’d be?
Knowing that I’m going to probably hold on to it for as long as I can, I’ll probably go with the pro model. The main question is the size option…
bro please for the love of god upgrade from an iphone 8… u can get a 13/14 refurbished for like 600 bucks
I just changed from 8 to 14 and my disappointment is large. But without iOS upgrades I felt I had to.
What were you disappointed in?
I’m Williams I work in FedEx you can dm me if you like to get iPhone 15 pro max and pay little every weekly
Im upgrading from my Iphone 7 to 15 but I gotta wait 4 fucking days for it to arrive :(:(
Haha, nice, but once you get it it’s going to be such a hugely different phone you’ll partly have to re-learn how to navigate the UI!
I went from a 7 plus to an XS MAX and it was a bit of an adjustment. I did miss that home button for a couple days, but once I got the hang of the gestures I came to like them better.
Yeah… every time we spend much time anticipating something… but then again once you take attention off it. Time passes real quick. Hope u enjoy ur new phone!
I have an 8 and I am literally planning on getting a 14 Pro. What did you notice most?
Responsiveness, the screen in general, and the battery. Then of course there’s no home button but that took about a week and I had forgot about it.
you missed the notch era.
I went from an iPhone 7 to iPhone 14 Pro. HUGE IMPACT. Lolol. But I still miss my 7?!
8 to a 12pro felt massive to me
This seems to be a troll post. An iPhone 11 to iPhone 15 pro you get:
You have to be a moron to say that the above quality of life features have zero impact even if you’re an extremely low end user.
This seems to be troll reply. I tried to switch from iPhone 11 Pro to 15 pro and ended up returning after 10 days of use. 15 pro with oled panel consumes battery like crazy. 120hz again battery sucker. Brighter display again same. So basically you get an updated phone with a less efficient battery. Which a normal use wants a more efficient battery. 5g is fine but till 5g came 4g lte was great too. Only the main camera is 48mp rest both the camera suck big time. Also 1 inch sensor 48 mp is still boring. Apple creates unnecessary bloated files from the main camera. USB-C nice to have but not everyone uses it.
one of the key selling points of oles panels is that they use a lot less energy, the battery drain is mostly caused by 120hz
So if you upgrade to a 15/plus, you’re still stuck with 60hz…after 4 generations. 15 plus is one of my options but the refresh rate will be a downgrade from my 2 year old xiaomi mid ranger. Pro models are too expensive in my country, not really worth it.
This post is about a 15 Pro… tf you saying. Start another thread if you want to complain aimlessly.
Lol. The experience is innately the same. This is true for all iPhones without a home button. This is where the reply is coming from.
Why do you have to be a moron to not be blown away by the phone?
Regular people could not tell you what it is or notice the difference between types of screens. Most people who can tell the difference probably only notice because they know the difference exists.
The Action button only matters if you use it.
So on your list the only thing a regular person is going to notice is that the top right corner says 5G now instead of 4G, the camera is marginally better, and that they have to use USB C instead of lightning. Doesn’t make them a moron if these things don’t improve their quality of life with the phone…
The average user doesn’t care about OLED, 120hz, or a brighter display as long as it works. I personally would never care about 5G because it’s the same thing as 4g just slightly faster In select areas and less reliable. The camera is good enough that nobody would care. Action button is so high up that it’s useless. USB-C can actually be negative for an average user, only a small percent of those users are using usb-c accessories.
Maybe they doesn’t care for the display but the difference is night and day after a couple of days using it. If you go back to the regular display everything feels slow
Do I really have to explain how this is dual sided?
Do I really have to explain how this is dual sided?
Since I’ve been downvoted, I guess I’ll have to.
Our brain has been proven to change the way we perceive things. This is common knowledge. In case you need proof, just look up the effects of optical illusions and how they work. Maybe watch a few.
The human eye shows us the world around us in about 24hz. This is why movies are mostly filmed in 24fps. The brain can change how we perceive that though. Clearly it can. Because are set to 24hz, yet we can see 60, 120, and with the new Samsung wall tv, 2000hz, this proves something is underlying. However, when you watch a movie, it is typically difficult to see individual frames.
The gamers in this sub would have thought they plucked me apart by now. Games don’t run at 24fps, and usually when it falls below a certain threshold, we can see this and interpret it as “lagging”. This is because unlike a movie, where you are relaxed, and not making and quick decisions, (unlike a game), your brain automatically shifts to see things in the correct order, either to preserve energy, or other things which I do not know.
In a game, adrenaline is rushing, your senses are heightened, you are thinking quicker, but less intelligent, and you make choices faster. In a game, you will notice the “lag” much more because your brain has made your eyes more sensitive to the shift in HZ.
Now your question is, what does this have to do with the screen on a phone? Well, when a user switches from a 60hz phone to a 120hz phone, they will temporarily see a difference. Ultimately, that users brain will adjust the eyes to match the display. And vice versa. When a 120hz user returns to 60hz, they will temporarily see a decrease in performance (artificially). This makes the phone seem like it is “lagging”, as stated by other users in this thread; “If you go back to the regular display everything feels slow”. (Posted by u/M4NU3L2311).
Anyway, I digress. Any further objections will be addressed in this comment as an edit.

Everything but the Apple ecosystem is on usb c now what are you on
True, but how many average users have the latest and greatest newest generation with USB-C? Most users still have lighting, if not excluding a MacBook, which most people also, don’t have.
I own like seven devices that use USB-C and ONE that uses lightning. I am so excited to put every lightning cable into a drawer and never look at them again.
Yet it still FEELS the same to use, that’s the point here and I agree.
Also, an average Joe doesn’t care much about neither of these things
Average Joe taking pics and video of his family cares I’m sure. The better night and low light photos is a big plus too.
So nothing of use is what your saying?
• Improved HDR • 3x telephoto • Dynamic island • 4K 60Fps all Lens support • Action button
Maybe in the camera it’s not a huge upgrade for him but overall its decent upgrade.
Telephoto is useless. Dynamic Island is a gimmick no real usage. Action button to high. I only agree with video capabilities.
