Most of my home feed is incomprehensible to me ('cos I don’t understand Dutch). I signed up to a “recommended” instance and didn’t clock that NL=Netherlands. Yeah, I don’t know what I’m doing!
I think it’s fair to say most people don’t know what they’re doing when they start. Just know that it’s as easy to switch instances as it is to switch emails. You’re not married to feddit.
