I have tried connect and Jerboa. Connect has good featured but the user experience is lacking. Refreshing does things you wouldn’t think, errors are TOO verbose and take up half the screen. But the customization is super nice and allowed me to make it almost like RiF.
Jerboa is the opposite. The UX is great and what you except from an official app. But there are missing features. Namely the inability to browse other instances unless you create an account who’s home instance is there.
Also the customization is a bit lacking in regards to what’s on screen and how you interact with the content.
I’m not complaining simply stating my findings. I would love to try more apps especially some from any of the reddit app developers.
The Connect guy made his 1st version in like 5 days and update multiple times a day, it’s impressive as a developer. Jerboa is nice too, now that network is more stable there is no more all kind of errors. In list view, Jerboa is about like Sync.
I’ve tried all of the current available Lemmy apps and so far liftoff seems to be the most well rounded. Can’t wait for sync, was my favorite 3rd party app for reddit.
Liftoff had some bugs with link handling and message replies so I switched to Thunder, and it’s been great with a very active and responsive developer. Still, the second sync is out, I’m back to my roots.
Yep, same. The only thing bothering me right now is that I keep those “oops, there’s nothing here” timeout message when opening comments to reply, and then a second later they load anyway. Might just change the timeout sensitivity. But that’s really complaining on a high level.
Good news is I’m sure there’ll be a solid option in the coming weeks. It’s amazing how quickly some of these devs are working to bring this place up to par.

That connect guy is everywhere!

Fellow Thunderer here. I’ve also tried out all the apps. I keep coming back to Thunder. It’s clean.

Liftoff is pretty broken on iOS
Ah, sorry to hear. I’ve heard good thing about wefwef, though it’s a web app, it’s apparently a bit more iphone-esque in design.
Memmy is pretty decent on iOS, but it misses the feed controls liftoff has

Connect just had a big update in the last 24hr, seems smoother now
I’m using liftoff till sync comes around. The experience has been pretty good coming from jerboa
