      I’m a big anti-car person (I’m middle aged and gave never owned one) and that made me roll my eyes. Someone should tell them about that, actually. And that the media doesn’t report on that is ridiculous (though I suppose it’s not the point of this particular story).

      You’re missing a big point, though. While you are statistically more likely to get in a car accident, you need to look at the whole picture.

      Toronto is a tight city. No one is getting into extreme collisions. Someone hitting you going 30 or 40 km an hour, isn’t going to do anything except damage your car.

      You are not going to get stabbed in your car, pushed onto tracks, etc.

      I don’t really care to have a car vs public transit argument. You do whatever you prefer. But it’s important to be fair about the comparison.
