If a third party gets involved, then I don’t know if the message is read, copied, or stored insecurely by them.

Apple can’t have it both ways here. Is iMessage secure? Yes or no. There’s no inbetween. If the answer is “yes”, then it’s impossible for Beeper to be doing anything that would compromise that security. If the answer is “no”, then under what justification are they shutting it down?

If a third party gets involved and you don’t know if they message is read, thennone of your messages were ever secure to begin with.
