After King’s Fall, most people have expected Wrath of the Machine to return next season, though now I’ve seen speculation that it could be Leviathan, which opens up a lot of doors since that’s a D2 raid. What do you all think it’ll be, or what do you want it to be?
Personally, I’m rooting for WotM, but also Crota’s End because I really enjoyed that one. Though honestly, I wish they’d do the crowd favorite idea of turning CE into a dungeon.
Ultimately, I’m down with any raid and am excited to go for another day one clear!
I suspect it’s not a super popular choice, but I’d really love for the Leviathan raid to come back. I never got to raid in Destiny 1, so Leviathan holds a very special place for me.
Plus, it was really cool exploring the underbelly area, and despite being terrible at navigating usually - I was always pretty much the only one on my teams that could lead everyone to where we needed to go haha.
However, I’d also take Scourge of the Past back if that means we can have the Black Armory weapons back!
I think Scourge is the one coming back, but the one I personally want back is Leviathan. Leviathan had so many really great weapons, and the armour was really nice too.
Heard rumors that Scourge of the Past will be returning (from a youtube vid IIRC?), but not sure there is a solid confirmed source. Hoping to see most or all raids return at some point!
I think there was a reference to it in the data farming folks do via API but another leak source confirmed it wasn’t gonna be SotP.
Scourge would be cool too! I miss that one a bit.
I ran this raid more than any other when farming for Anarchy, mostly boss checkpoints but several full runs (was also hunting that sparrow). I think given how easy it was to blow through this raid, Bungie would only do this one with significant rework to make it longer and tougher.

Nobody saying Crota, I’m going to say it so that there can be a raid I can solo again.
Given Bungie’s refresh philosophy lately, if Crota came back, they’d rework it to make it harder to solo.
And also self-rez was required to solo the bridge after the Age of Triumphs refresh, correct?
Quite possibly - that sounds right, I just can’t remember clearly. Either way, that solo was a mix of easy skips and exploits that would almost certainly not survive a remake. Shoot they’d probably even troll us with Easter eggs that reference the old solo techniques.
I’d love WotM to come back, it’s my favorite raid but I don’t think it will be. I’m betting on Leviathan.
I never completed WotM back in D1 and would love to see it make a return in D2. Here’s to hoping!
I’m getting on Leviathan, too. I was never a huge fan of it, but I miss it. I’m curious to see if they’ll make tweaks to it like the D1 returning raids.
Seems like it would be easier to refresh Leviathan and bring that back, but I’d really rather WotM.
I’m fairly certain that Bungie said the next reprised Raid was going to be from D1. I would have to scourge the internet to dredge up where they said that though so it’s probably not going to be an easy thing to find. I’ll try to look around though.
My guess for a Raid would have to go to Wrath of the Machine due to them adding Oryx last time and so they probably wouldn’t want to do two Hive Raids back to back. Then again it would be a hell of a lot simpler to add Crota due to most of the Assets already being in the game. With Wrath Bungie would need to remake all the SIVA Devils, and as we all know, Bungie does not like going the extra mile anymore. If Wrath does come back I’m betting that they will all look like House Dusk just like how they flubbed the Devil’s Lair Strike. I really hope they prove me wrong though.
Also, I highly doubt Leviathan would come back any time soon, especially since in today’s Meta it would be far too easy (would be the new Crota). It was already heavily power crept right before it went into the DCV so either we would need to be severely nerfed or the enemies would need to become insane Bullet Sponges.
