I’m drowning. I have tried Ritalin and for like three four days I really thought it was helping then out of the blue no effect or very limited effect. I’m behind at work very behind and scared and frustrated and feel like I can’t change anything and work sucks. It’s boring most of the time and incredibly stressful with me having no power or ability to change things. I’m on my third therapist this year and second psych. The problem is me. I know I’m the problem and I am trying and people are like you must be trying your best that’s all you can do. And I am trying my best and it’s not even close to enough. It’s not enough to make it through a day and I bounce between wanting to sleep and wanting to cry. I’m really fucking up my job and not able to course correct and no one seems to care but they are going to when it’s time for results.

Time disappears for me. Two hours feels like 15 minutes and I am not doing anything but doom scrolling or dicking around, 15 minutes feels like an eternity and I feel like I am going insane not being able to tell how much time is passing. And the thing is there is nothing that can be done differently than what I am doing (seeking help) and I just can’t find the right meds.

I sincerely hope everyone is doing much better than I am. I hope people have safe travels, holidays and enjoy their week.

Oh wow, I can relate to well. My current meds do not seem as effective and upping dose doesn’t work. I really hope they try something else that you can get some results from. I am sure you have heard it before, but if you can get physically exhausted from like a good exercise or play it can help resetting some endorphin receptors for a little bit. Might help buy some time, or make sone of it more bearable, while waiting on a new med.

I hope you are feeling much better! I hate any kind of being sick, especially during a busy time of year while trying to keep up with everything.

I’m feeling quite a bit of work burnout. Seems like every company eventually just changes and tweaks job positions to keep saving and cutting back, so that the job you were hired for is just too much to handle anymore. Doing great, here is a pat on the back and more, tougher assignments, good job! I wanna go be a cave troll. Knowing there is no retirement in my future makes it a tough struggle somedays to keep focused, and take my meds, and not daydream of that cave troll life too much.

Thank you for the well wishes! I feel like what you are describing happens at most workplaces eventually - but maybe I’ve just been at shitty ones. They do exactly what you describe - cut costs until one person is doing the work of 3 people. I hope that improves for you, burnout is no fun. In my old career, I dreamt of cave troll life all the time, so I can definitely relate.

Oof I understand your retirement feelings. My partner and I were talking about how our retirement plans are pretty dark and honestly so are most of our friends. Hang in there and I hope you get time to rest this holiday.
