I guess I’m just here to vent. I was a day 1 D1 guardian, and have put more hours into Destiny as a franchise than any other game in my library. I quit D2 after Curse of Osiris because PvP was the only thing going, and Bungie had just made Sniper/Sidearm the only viable loadout and it broke me. I came back just after Witch Queen, because the hype was inescapable. Caught up on the lore, got my Scallywag badge and then my Seraph badge… And then in season of Defiance I noticed a change.

A change I’ve seen get only worse in season of the deep: there is no way for me to complete the seasonal title solo.

“Just use LFG”. Not the point. I have always been able to enjoy Destiny as a solo player. Always enjoyed the matchmade playlists. Loved the challenge of going after Brakion to get Vexcalibur. Hell, Bungie even seemed to be catering more to players like me by promising in game LFG with Lightfall… I shouldn’t have to throw myself on the mercy of strangers on a 3rd party website just to find two people who want to do all the pressure trials.

I just feel disincented. I don’t really expect anything to change, but I do kind of feel bummed out about how much Bungie seems to be moving away from players like me: that I’m no longer the target audience for a game I enjoy the spit out of.

/rant. Thanks for listening you guys. Maybe it’s time to finish Returnal or something…

Destiny is a multiplayer game. It always has been. If you don’t want to play with people, this isn’t the game to do that in.

I know what you mean, though for many seasons it’s been easy enough to do the important stuff without LFG. I’m a solo player myself and if I see the seasonal title requires LFGing, I’m just not gonna get it. This season makes it extra hard because it does a poor job of explaining the pressure trials, so even with the matchmade versions I’m out of luck here. So I play for the story and the exotic missions and that’s fine. Saves me time for other games in my backlog and reduces Destiny’s FOMO for me.

There is the Solo Enabler, used it myself for a year or so, works perfectly, takes a bit longer to get into the matchmade activity, as it needs time to just give up on finding folk. Also it doesn’t change the fact that Destiny is a multiplayer game, I’ve been successfully using the D2 LFG discord to get through stuff as my mates are online pretty infrequently.
