    Maybe orcs have always been “soft”, but it’s taken a cultural shift to get to a point where they’re allowed to be themselves.

    Back in my day, Orcs were only brutal monsters to be slain without remorse. If you wanted to be a green meanie you played a half-orc and you liked it and you didnt question the parental implications of your character!

      That’s where half orcs come from, yes.

      In 5e it’s explained as sometimes Orc camps make alliances with human settlements.

      In older editions the explanation was a bit more concerning, and rhymed with grape.
