A lot of faculty are making the same choice. Red states are finally undertaking the mission that’s been a goal since Goldwater/Nixon times, to gag pesky academics and educators. They think that will help them control of the next generation’s minds, but it won’t work because reality has a well-known liberal bias. But it may well destroy a great system of land-grant universities that have been the envy of the world.
