I’m craving community after the older autism spaces became unsafe or fractured. I’m 27F and I like BTS, tornadoes and collecting information into lists. I’ve been feeling very lonely since the other spaces became unhealthy and harmful. I’m very burned out these days and it’s difficult to find things to be happy about.

The UK actually has the greatest number of tornadoes per square mile than anywhere on Earth but we don’t hear about them because most are under EF3. Sometimes we get supercells similar to the American ones.

Oh wow I never realised I was missing tornado facts from my life but I am genuinely loving learning about this.

I had no idea! I wonder why that is. Thanks so much for that cool tornado fact. Also, your comment led me to learn about the Enhanced Fujima Scale and the Torro scale which is neat!

I had no idea! I’m from the UK and I have definitely felt the winds that kinda felt like tornados, didn’t think they might be actual tornadoes!

Something I loved learning about stormchasers is that the professional ones are also first responders to destroyed houses and some have training in first aid and bring chainsaws with them. I love ethical storm chasing, it’s considered good etiquette to stop an exhilarating chase the moment a place is hit and go into first response mode instead.

Oh man, I used to love watching Storm Chasers back in the day! Though I wish it focused more on the storms and less on the drama. I get the itch to rewatch it every now and then, but I can’t bring myself to do it after Tim’s death. He was always my favourite.
