I have looked at Nexus, Paperless, Mayian, OpenKM and more. But would like some input. Any experience and pro/cons with the mentioned or others?

No experience, but friends use Paperless and are happy with it.
I’ve tried Mayan EDMS once, but found it way to bloated for just myself. Currently I’m using paperless-ngx and it’s very simple yet powerful enough for my use case.
I did not even realize that I needed a document management system. I just kind of use the file system, but it’s not great. I’m going to install paperless-ngx and see how it works with me.
