  • The quality and quantity of voice actors has exploded, there are still plenty of places that cheap out, but the baseline level of voice acting in dubbing now is barely even comparable to 15 years ago.

Finding decent dubs used to be a needle in a haystack with big studio money required, you can name them all off on one hand, the OP did later on in the thread. Now it’s almost the opposite!

There’s also a shift in western, especially American, voice acting away from subtle emotional performances to the emotive and excitement filled performances of the Japanese voice actors too. It’s a few things right now.

  • This is a crossing the Rubicon moment for Trump. The entire maga apparatus understands that at least the pretense of consequences await them if another group takes over, that includes people who have been fired or left. It happened to them the last time. They know this time the other side is getting voted in on consequences, and they know the other side knows they have a year or two post election to do it, or else they already risk getting wiped out in the midterms just like the situation that republicans find themselves in now.

It’s life or death right now for a lot of members of this admin, and they are gonna act like that. Good luck us.

  • Actively evading foia

I dunno, maybe don’t avoid foia to get your grants back up and running. Whataboutism is truly unhelpful when someone is committing a federal foia related crime. The people violating foia from this admin should also be prosecuted.

I would even argue it would have been a net positive to the world to keep the funding going. But don’t commit a crime to then go ahead and do that. The kickback thing is dumb, the time they want is crazy, but his lawyer is gonna make short work of that, and he gets pardoned by the next guy.

Maybe next time don’t purposefully try to evade foia?

  • You can see it now very clearly. The meta is massive blocks of text with a dozen citations that must take an incredible amount of time to create, or are being assisted by an LLM. If you don’t reply to doubt or trolling with 10,000 words, you ain’t really communist.

They’ve created a Facebook Christian type prosetylization communication style that is both super comfy to members and even more isolating to outsiders. Your knowledge must be doctoral level.

It looks like when bones of the moon would post the sovereign citizen shit. Then if you even slightly call it out you get modded off. So these posts are just paragraphs and paragraphs of replies full of citations replying to deleted comments. It’s crazy to see how the echo chamber has progressed over time.

  • That’s funny, you are like opposite me.

There are a lot of exceptions, Morrells are actually one of the few mushrooms that can kill you or make you very ill if you don’t cook them long enough, so I wouldn’t even call them exceptions. They still require knowledge and prep. That includes chicken of the woods which can be dangerous depending on which tree it’s growing on.

Oyster mushrooms on the west coast of the US are a fair bet, someone in this same thread made a good list, but it’s regional. A high percentage of the poisonings in California (Australia too as I understand it) used to be SE Asians who mistook them for paddy-straw mushrooms. A lot of these articles are saying that it’s more wide spread this time because of “naive” people harvesting. I hope it’s not like food insecure people trying to fill caloric gaps…

There are plenty of amateurs who rise to the ranks of expert, but the consequences of error can be very high. I recommend anyone who wants to harvest to learn to spore print as part of identification. Harvesting any wild edibles requires a lot of research, mushrooms topping that list by a fair margin.

  • It’s a very good movie. I am a non markiplier fan who went to the movie because my markiplier fan friend wanted to see it. Holy shit was i glad I went with him, cause this movie is legitimately good.

After having had a week to reflect on it, I think the main problem was markiplier’s acting. I think he must be an excellent director and producer, there’s no reason he needs to act as well. The movie plays like a 2 hour cut scene in a good way. The bits of world building made me want more, made me want to play the game to seek it out. This was successful both as a stand-alone movie and as an advertisement for the game.

It punches above its budget as well imo. Aside from some janky visuals at the beginning, once you’re inside the vehicle with Markiplier, it feels big. It doesn’t feel like you are trapped in personal sized submarine the whole time at all.
