I’m mostly surprised that there are companies interested in “conversations” between bullshit generators LLMs and mentally unwell people that “converse” with them.

If the free VPN provides an OpenVPN / Wireguard configuration, then you’re mostly safe from this particular attack. Most sites use TLS, so the VPN provider won’t be able to see shit.
In this particular case, it’s a browser extension, which is actually able to access the contents of visited webpages.

You jest, but you aren’t wrong. At least if we are talking about C, C++ or Rust. https://godbolt.org/z/oPPfdfcf5
.NET compiler is weak when it comes to optimizing your code; I assume Go’s is as bad.

Alternatively, use Vesktop. It has telemetry removed. And it’s actually developed with Linux in mind.

If you use Linux, this is a good reminder to spend a bit of time learning AppArmor / SELinux. rustc / cargo and processes spawned by them shouldn’t have access to your entire $HOME.

LLMs need to be trained to work with reptilian language. Problem solved.

It’s evolving, just backwards.

Kind of a weird setup, why not just enable the systemd unit?
sudo systemctl enable --now earlyoom
I’m so confused by the meme. What the hell is a “monolithic bug”? And what does DevOps have to do with software architecture?

Not sure why you’re downvoted.
Operating systems often cache disk writes and flush them to underlying devices once in a while. Dismounting (or “ejecting” in Windows terms) forces the writes to be flushed.
See man 2 fsync.
Isn’t “birth” defined as the process of being, quoting you, “flopped out of mother’s meat curtains”?
If it makes you feel better, grammatical genders in Norwegian are arbitrary too. There are no rules or tricks to help you figure out if a noun is masculine, feminine or neuter. :S
Grammatical gender is a thing in a shitload of languages.

Hilariously enough, just today I read a blog post about a service where the client interacts with the database directly - https://clickhouse.com/blog/building-a-paste-service-with-clickhouse. While it’s not your traditional OLTP database, it still kinda fits.

It is.
https://zed.dev/ - check out the video on the front page. Most of it (2:08 - 6:18, the whole video is 8:40) is shilling for an integrated LLM.
The term “stable” is not meant to be used as a synonym for “reliable” when describing distros.
