Still has that orientalism shit although not out-right racist so far at least. Mentioned the girls’ underwear vending machine thing which I assumed was a much later internet thing, feels weird having it mentioned in 2003 when people are still referencing that in the same ‘Japan so weird’ way.

Ah, OK, thanks for explaining. Yeah that doesn’t sound so bad. I’m so fucking annoyed repairing my gaming electronics and electronics in general so any design that limits me having to take stuff apart to clean it, replace capacitors, desolder CMOS batteries, replace parts, etc. is what I want in life.

The King Of Kong documentary definitely makes him seem like he cheated in DK using footage taped on an emulator, so I’m assuming at least some of the later accusations are true. It’s also true that he is actually good at these games at a near-top level because he’s done either real highscores or at least ones close to them in front of live audiences. But he likely cheats on top of that to maintain some of his records out of pettiness and shit.

The bigger OLED model for Switch 1 at 7" has a PPI of 200, which is higher than most TVs and gaming monitors. The Steam Deck only has an 800p-tall screen. The lack of clarity people saw on Switch is mostly likely the game not hitting the screen’s native resolution in the first place. The 120hz kicks ass, but a 1080p screen is a total waste on Switch2.

I will never own one so I guess so, although maybe theirs are built better or aren’t soldered to the mobo (probably are).
