Moor is racist in German?
Only if you have no real problems in life…
“Mohr” is pretty anachronistic but in itself not discriminatory or a slur. Up until somewhat recently (say, at least up until the 2000s) it was not uncommon to find it in product names or mascots (“Mohrenköpfe”, the “Sarotti Mohr”). I would say it is much tamer than the german word “Neger” (which in itself is also not a slur, but … less desireable).
10% Erfolgsquote ausgehen.
Well, i use the same PC (an old HP 7800 “convertible Minitower”) now since about 2010 with various versions of Debian… in the last 15 years i honestly did not have any problems. But the stuff that i do is also pretty boring:
Soooo… perhaps its the old hardware, perhaps its my boring behaviour of not changing anything as long as it works, but here everything works flawlessly for well over a decade.
The article is on point.
I did know a former brownshirt (my neighbour when i was a kid in the late 80s, early 90s), and i often talked to him about his time back then, before the war. He was quiet a nice dude, you couldn’t imagine that he spend his youth beating jews and having street fights with communists… but this is another story.
What stuck in my mind from this conversations was that he and the other brownshirts were PROUD of what they were doing, they left their home in uniform and returned to it in uniform. They paraded in uniforms and it was simply KNOWN who they were. I think the best analogy for today would be getting a gang tattoo to your face and walking around with it in public - there is no easy going back.
This tells me, that the ICE guys (are there any women employed?) are not really convinced that they are doing “the right thing”, that they want to have a way back into normal society if their experiment fails.
The only reason there is any support left, is because it happens so far away. When the poor moscowits would have to look into the receiving end of a missile themselves, they >would lose their lust for war pretty quickly I would say.
Based on my personal interaction with russians and my understand of the “success” of “moral bombing” doring nearly any war i would highly doubt this. If you ask me, if there is a nation which has a more inflated sense of national pride than the US than it is russia…
That would be a stupid idea - it would create even more support (if that is possible) for the war in the russian population without achieving anything besides pretty fireworks. It would be much better to support ukraine in targetting military and industrial targets inside russian territories - a war is won with logistics, and if the logistics goes kaboom that would be a problem for the russians.
Also, letting the russian shadow fleet have “unfortunate accidents” would also have more (plausible deniable) effect on the war than lobbing some missiles at moscow.
Yeah, nice stawman… think what you want, fight your little culture war if you will… i just wanted to bring some sane context to the discussion about the word and i will leave it this way. I will not further partake in a fruitless conversation.
