Looks like it was tampered before packaging. File a report and return for a refund.

It’s perfect!

Previously on 10.0.1, my Ultra also keeps showing I’m underground which I’m not, even when I’m on a 3 storey building. After updating to 10.1, this has been solved so far for me. 10.0.1 has elevation issues and is among the buggiest for watchOS.

I’ve read a lot of posts here regarding terrible battery life on the Ultra, but mine’s fine so far. I last charged the night before to 100% around 10pm, took it off charger and left it overnight before I started to wear it back the next morning around 7am which is still at 100%. Left for work and used it for music for commuting and a mix of notifications and cellular connections. 10hrs later I’m still left with 75%.
