I have the same C2 TV and except for when I first got it and set it up in the spring, I haven’t seen the built-in apps. Actually, I did try a built in app the other day to rule out a problem with my HDMI cable and Apple TV, but it turned out to be the latest LG firmware.
For me, not only is the Apple TV fast and has great video processing, it’s also clean, ad free, easy to navigate, and just a better experience than built in apps, including LG’s WebOS.
In addition to all that above, I like the way it works seamlessly with my other apple products, whether it’s my AirPods, my phone, or iPad. It also has far less tracking which means more privacy.
Things are better these days, but devices with the biggest user base also get more ap updates for a much longer period of time than individual brands of TV’s, or even model lines within some brands when new ones come out.
I have Hulu Live with Disney as well. As other’s mentioned, you have to use your Hulu credentials to log in. It’s been working great for a long time on my main TV and I just recently added the Disney app on our bedroom TV that’s also on an Apple TV and it worked fine.
