Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy it, I’m really proud of this one :)
I just play Steam Deck and write about gaming + Linux a lot

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy it, I’m really proud of this one :)

I use RetroDECK, which in turn uses the left-hand trackpad on the SteamDeck as a ‘radial dial’. I touch it, then select ‘quick’ then select ‘save’ - and it then makes an instant save state. So I don’t have to use any menu or loading point. I just start a game, then use the touchpad to ‘load’ that state and it is instant!
Save anywhere, any time. And load the same way. :)

It absolutely is!
I have a screenshot in the article of me doing just that. In fact it handles it so well that you can upscale the resolution a ton, and you can add HD texture packs. So it plays unbelievably well. Check my linked post up the top in this post and you’ll find some details I go into for getting it to work with HD texture packs!

The games have been decompiled and made to run native via openGOAL, so they’re far better using that via Decky Loader than emulated!

Thank you!
I have got it on my Steam Deck, but rather the PS3 version (using RPCS3/RetroDECK), and I’m wondering which one I should play when I do try it! Everyone speaks so highly of it, I’m looking forward to!

That’s an amazing idea!
I love the cheat code, and the idea of the game. Thank you for this, I’d never have looked at it (more of a Batman fan than Spidey), so this is a perfect recommendation!!!

Shadow of the Colossus is one I have for RPCS3…should I instead opt for a polished HD texture PS2 version? From what I read, there was some big frame-rate issues on the PS3 version
Rule of Rose is one I already have on my emulator! You can see it in the picture there, and the HD texture pack I got for that was like…one billion GB, so the textures are phenomenally polished!!!

Tenchu!!! I like the look of this one, will do!!!
Having played Persona 4 and 5…will 3 still be worth my time?

I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks so much for both reading what I write, and for check in!
I’m okay, for the most part. The good news is that my kidneys have gotten the all-clear and are totally fine. The not-so-good news is that I do have nerve damage. Oh my right hip, and on my left thigh. That means I won’t know for another 10 months if I am able to reverse or slow the damage at all.
A hard pill to swallow (so to speak), and pretty devastating all up. But, I was expecting worse!!!
But I’m in a better place, I’ve cut back on work a ton (lucky to be in the financial position to do so), and am focusing on lots of physical activity. I’m also spending time bringing the cabin I bought to life - which has been really nice. Escaping Paris helped I think.
And, catching up on writing plenty of gaming, too. I’ve so many to come in the next week or two, not including any dedicated Steam Deck / Gaming News posts. So its really nice to get back to them!
Thanks for writing, always makes me smile :)

These are wonderful! Exactly the kind of thing I hoped might be suggested - less reviews generally means less known, so I’m excited to try!
I think some people get caught up on the few AAA offerings, and miss the indie car games. But maybe I’m generalizing.
I appreciate these, hope others do also :)
I’m using Jerboa from droidify without any issue!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Makes me feel like an old/senior man in a coffee shop with newspaper in the morning :D
If it helps with a cozy morning and (hopefully) lets you read about a thing or two you may have missed in gaming news lately…then my job is done!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it.
EmuReady sounds awesome! I’ll definitely be using that in the future, hopefully it will be a good resource for my Odin 2 Max!
Be the change you want to see! You can make an account there and share how games run for you, in fact I just checked and can’t see a single Odin compatibility report submitted by the community yet. You could be the one to change that!!!
Your next interview is giving me darknet diaries vibes, sounds like it has potential to be very interesting.
If Jack is somehow stumbling over this, he and I both know that he owes me a coffee.
Wii U emulation on Android just isn’t quite there yet
I’ve not been in the Android emulation scene for awhile, it’s nice that its even possible these days!
Thanks for the interest!
In 2023 / 2024 I was in contact with what I suppose you’d call the ‘big three’ of modern piracy - FitGirl, Dodi and Empress.
Empress was clearly in it just for the money. She was exactly as you’d expect her to be from her interview and general ranting back then.
Dodi said he did so because he grew up very poor in Egypt, he stated that pirating games was the only way he and his friends could hope to enjoy gaming and culture. That the companies lost no money or sales because there was simply no way they’d be able to afford the games. Though, to be fair, he has afforded to put himself through medical school since he started…so I’d say he also enjoys the proceeds.
Fit was the most calculated, and I think knowledgeable of the three. I think she is a pirate at heart and does it for an ideal, though she too (the most of the three) has enjoyed a lot of money for her efforts.
I’m super interested to see how this Switch pirate interview goes, since like I mentioned - its not been done before!
Staying away from Chome (even for work) I haven’t had the chance to try it out yet, I’m hoping it’s going to be approved to Firefox’s add-ons so I can see how it is!
Ugh
There’s always something I mess up! Thank you, I’ll edit that to what it should be!
An easy mistake to make!
You’ll be thinking of my good friend Gardiner, whose YouTube channel is well known!
But no, I just write on his site. I used to contribute to a bunch of sites and spaces you might know, but these days I only share articles on his site.
And thank you! I appreciate that, glad you enjoyed this one :)
