@ugjka have this on vinyl, so good.
@max @alternativenation I’m excited to check out their other records. This one new one I like, it’s like a very involved movie. They put in weird things like 10 seconds of silence in the middle of a song.
@renwillis @ren Have you listened to Nicholas Krgovich before? He may not be as whimsical as Sufjan is at times, but, has a certain fragile (but somehow still fun-sounding) songwriting nature I find similar.
@renwillis @ren totally agree, I was just listening to “I walked” the other day and thought the exact same thing.
@ren @renwillis love when that piano goes up a scale slowly in flint, some of the piano keys are broken/not hitting correctly. Very fitting for such a haunting song.
@famousblueben sounds like that describes a good 2/3 of nmh songs, lol. I remember seeing them on their reunion tour a few years ago in Maine, and Jeff walked by the line of us outside waiting to enter, and someone yelled “Jeff, you stain my mountaintops!”
@renwillis @alternativenation “Naomi” is a good one from this album too.

@renwillis @alternativenation this sounds great! Like punk rock Bob Dylan
@cordillera @alternativenation glad you like it! all that is old is new again, I guess
agreed. but, in true Canadian fashion, Rolling Stone does apologize that they are not on the list.
@coffe @alternativenation good stuff!
