The US economy is doing anything it can to create growth, which is causing investors to create a bubble around AI that is “too big to fail”.

Unfortunately we live in very interesting times. The global death of democracy is approaching right when we all need to be working together to address the rapidly changing climate. More than likely the globe will see a nationalistic dash for resources to where nation states attempt to bolster themselves before the advent of mass migration.

Now luckily, this will more than likely take decades, not years. Being a doomer isn’t being aware of the state of the world, it’s how you respond to it. Don’t get caught up thinking about things on a global scale, if nations aren’t able to fix it… individuals really don’t have a chance. Think locally, build a mutual aid and defense network that operates to protect your loved ones and your community. There is still time to prepare and neighbors to protect, and at the end of the day that’s really what matters.

Based on the article he wasn’t even handing out a mask that would hide people’s identity. They state it was a face shield similar to what police use…which are clear. Sounds like they just arrested a dude for handing out water and PPE because people are being shot in the face.

I agree in part, but I also think that the adoption of thirdway politics by the boomers led to the material conditions that is the real reason why so many young people are so susceptible to radicalization.

If younger people were granted the educations and careers that were offered to older generations, they’re wouldn’t really be a reason for them to need to find a scapegoat for all their problems.

Lol, it’s not. The IRS doesn’t care about your brokerage sales unless you’re liable for a capital gains tax, which wouldn’t happen if you are not making a profit.

Plus, if they received a huge pile of paper about your trades that didn’t include a 1099-b, which is literally just like 1/4 of a sheet of paper…they would just request it from your brokerage.

Anyone who thinks the IRS is some evil org has just never done their own taxes and listens to propaganda from billionaires who don’t think taxes should exist.

If you’ve ever really had a legal problem with the IRS, you were more than likely purposely evading taxes and deserve the trouble. They are actually really reasonable to work with, and usually bend backwards to resolve the issue in several different ways before pursuing anyone legally.

It’s sad to say, but I honestly think the vaccines came out too soon. If the virus has another 6 months to a year to actually scare/eliminate some of the older people in Congress we wouldn’t be in this mess. A literal miracle of science allowed people to engage in mass denialism so great that a significant portion of the population literally won’t acknowledge millions of people died.

Yes, some people naturally have better 3d spatial awareness. You can also train your eyes to be better over time. I work in orthotics and prosthetics and have to sculpt positive models of different body parts. We also have to do GAIT analysis where we have to observe the angle of different joints while a patient ambulates.

Some people are just better at it than others starting out, especially if they have prior similar experience. I teach a lot of residents and have noticed that students that have a background in art or construction tend to have a better eye for angles. A lot of it is just practicing by observing different angles compared to something that is known to be square.

I have also trained people who never seem to be able to improve their ability to see angles, which is a big hindrance in their careers. A lot of schools actually have students take a spacial awareness test before students begin studying in the field.
