It would fill up the break bar instantly for all enemies in the battle when you die. And when you do actually break an enemy you could stack it with other pictos that burn or modify (eg slow) the enemy on break.
Now it only fills the break bar of the enemy that killed you, the others remain untouched. So it also means that you can’t combo it with auto death that insta kills you on battle start to fill up everyone’s break bars from turn 1 and use it to your advantage. It definitely made some battles incredibly easy if you built around it.

I legit thought that the old behaviour was expected and not a bug. I never built primarily around that (although it was fun to watch other people do), but I did use the heck out of it in boss fights like the endless tower where there are 2-3 bosses at once. At least I finished the game before it was patched XD

TLDR summary: major changes including new areas, lumina, weapons, photo mode, lumina loadouts, FSR4, Steam Deck verified, Breaking Death being not as… game-breaking anymore

Aaaaah this game was amazing, can’t wait to download it again to play the new update

The 5 people who care will be very annoyed

I don’t understand why they released BO7 so soon after 6. Also seeing 7 after the name reeks of cash grab when it comes to games with reputation like theirs.

It’s barely “decent” because it’s not even as powerful as a base PS5 which came out 5 years ago. Consoles are the baseline for any AA or AAA game and it will become outdated very quickly for a PC you can’t even fully upgrade.

It runs Linux out of the box not Windows, so it’s not normal. Not to mention it’s barely upgradeable, HDD and RAM only. I know some prebuilts lock you out of upgrading but you can buy plenty that you can fully modify yourself.

Unfortunately “console people who just want to plug something in and start playing” is a pretty big slice of the type of people that like playing multiplayer games especially AAAs which won’t always work. Not to mention they will still be served with a PC game so there will be all of the regular options like graphics that PC players are exposed to.
I’m really hoping Valve proves me wrong but I don’t think I’d recommend this device to a console only player as their first PC.

At least the SteamDeck was a different form factor, this will find it difficult to compete with consoles forget normal pre-builts, especially if its more expensive than both

It’s a bit of a hard sell in an environment where being economical is the first thing on people’s minds. That’s a very niche audience. People who don’t want to build their own PC, don’t want a normal prebuilt, and are okay being less powerful than a console, and will not to mention not play a ton of multiplayer games out of the box. It’s not going to capture anyone from the console market and its not going to capture the hardcore PC nerds.

DOA already if it’s priced more than that. Who is this marketed to?

This is the result of an already years long lawsuit. Google can’t drag it for long, in fact initially they were given only 2 weeks after the decision to implement this but like I said they’ve settled with Epic to make these changes from Android 17 onwards
From what I recall that wasn’t the case before, it was one time. Just Cause 3 is 10 years old so maybe the Denuvo subscription didn’t apply.
