I still use Mate, but switched the window manager to i3.
because if you use a 40 kHz signal to “draw” a 10 kHz wave, the wave will have only four “pixels”, so all the high frequencies have very low fidelity
192 kHz for music.
The CD was the worst thing to happen in the history of audio. 44 (or 48) kHz is awful, and it is still prevalent. It would be better to wait a few more years and have better quality.
Nothing wrong, if don’t spend daily hours editing text (or code).
I use one called Dark Background and Light Text.
instead rely on your outdated distro packages only
Or you use a distro that always have up-to-date packages.
Void is working well for me.
so ditch this nonsense and use a better distro?
Before Void I was using Debian (then Devuan), and I used aliases for the package manager commands there too.
Anyway, I think the “the program name is too long” argument is even worse.
Why make the effort to switch to Firefox, if the browser that came installed with your device works?
Or, more realistically, people don’t even grok the concept of a web browser.
xbps felt like a million characters to type which I hated
Ever heard of alias
?
For me it’s alias pks='xbps-query -Rs'
and alias pki='xbps-install'
(package search and package install).
It is just different. GIMP is a general image editor. Darktable is for developing, retouching, and organizing photos. GIMP does a lot of things that Darktable doesn’t. But for processing RAW photos, adjusting light, color, contrast, removing spots, it is much easier to do with Darktable.
The fact that anyone using this app is (probably) conscious about privacy and/or Free software makes for an interesting filter.
Also, what’s for breakfast?
toast and coffee, as (almost) always
Darktable is a great photo editor (similar to Lightroom).
