I wish I had a petabyte ssd! There’d be so much room for activities!
Lol thank you, I’m dumb
I am not a programmer, but whenever I hear something is an electron app, I immediately expect it to be unresponsive as fuck and fail to perform its basic functions adequately. Does it really have a reputation to the contrary? Or is that the joke and I’m an idiot?

What I want is consistency, either apply the law equally and fairly or reform the whole system. Nobody, especially not big business, should be getting special carve-outs to be exempt from copyright infringement outside of ‘fair use’ considerations.
In my ideal world, IP law would be framed to protect novel ideas just long enough for inventors or creators to capitalize on their ideas and prevent outright 1:1 copying without any sort of innovative or transformational changes. It would also discourage squatting on things like patents- patent squatting and the like should lead to losing rights.

Definitely adding “couldn’t count to 20 without taking off their shoes” to my repertoire, thank you very much

Why couldn’t a blind person serve as a judge?

Very little pisses me off like downloading a ‘free’ app and immediately being hit with a paywall for a subscription without so much as a free trial. Those devs can go fuck themselves. Their app is NOT free and should not be marked as such.
Alternatively, shit like what Accuweather did also pisses me off. Years ago, they had a one time payment to remove ads permanently. I paid, because I like their service and didn’t mind kicking a few bucks their way to support development. A few months later, they introduced a sub model that locked many existing features behind a wall and started showing me ads again. I immediately uninstalled that shit, sent them a scathing email (which I recognize does nothing, but made me feel good), and found an alternative.
Yeah I’ve noticed these karaoke captions (as I’ve been calling them) are extremely distracting and make it harder to actually read, especially when the subject speaks especially fast. I figure there’s a reason regular captions don’t fuckin do that and wish folks would stop making shit like this up and calling it an accessibility feature!

I like the idea, but in the long term, how do you plan to fund the operating cost of the service if you’re not charging any sort of fees? Ads?

Goddamnit I can’t believe I missed that

The cEvic, if you will

Some torrent clients have a sequential download option, though that is generally considered to be bad for torrenting (not totally sure why, but it’s not the optimal/efficient download strategy).
You could also just manually set file priorities to ‘force’ downloading what you want first. That could be cumbersome if you’re downloading shows with lots of seasons/episodes.
Congratulations, you’ve invented croutons
