5 hours agoIn case anyone is interested, the whole HDMI 2.1 fiasco can easily be worked around by using DisplayPort. Assuming your monitor doesn’t have DisplayPort, you can buy an inexpensive active adapter that supports HDMI 2.1, where you have DP to your GPU and HDMI out to the monitor. This might sound undesirable but IIRC HDMI outs in intel gpus are actually going through adapters internally so it shouldn’t really make a difference.

mind telling me what adapters you tried? I haven’t faced this problem myself since I’m 100% DP, but if it does come up I’d like to know what’s what
