Well now, the idea of having European troops in Canada is not one I’d ever considered but it’s intriguing in a dystopian future kind of way


I’d love it if Canada could scoop in here to undercut the US in some way, but I guess it’s a generally good thing if there’s more than just one dominant player in critical minerals.

I’m genuinely curious about the ability of the Canadian military to open military bases in Greenland as part of NATO. If we’re investing all of this new money into our military to protect the North, and we’re allowed to build out capacity in Greenland, we should absolutely do it.
The ability to extend military operations to the other side of Baffin Bay / Labrador Sea would be huge. Obviously, we’d do that in coordination with NATO, but considering it’s so close to us, we should really be highly involved there (if not leading the efforts).
