  • Pretending that any software is 100% accurate in a capitalist setting is a ridiculous thing to do; and every television and car since the 1970s has some software involved.

With cars it generally works well enough long enough in enough cases that that direct ECU or other computer patching isn’t needed, because who cares if you have a misfire in every 100,000 cycles as long as the car still runs.

I was originally referring to the same thing in ICE cars that are in EVs, i.e. the infotainment and gauge display systems which are the majority of software updates in either case study, but let’s not pretend this is the 1950s for ICE cars; yes your ECU on your shitbox probably does legitimately have a software update that has better tuning, especially if the same engine was used in two separate production years. Guess what they updated to get more performance despite it having the same engine in order to justify the next year release? The fucking software. Also many recalls are software based these days for all the things that aren’t directly mechanical, like airbag, or lane assist, or backup cameras, or fuel systems, or the ABS controller. All of those things will inevitably have a software flaw. All of those things can be updated, and are updated at least once during the production cycle if only to add additional hardware support when new hardware is swapped into the same model.

EVs, because they are so much more simple than ICE cars in every single possible way, lean harder on software since that’s the only thing that can really be effectively separated into distinct packages and models until solid state batteries come about.

  • If it would be something that’s needed, that would improve humanity in anyway, maybe.

But here’s the problem, these will kill off entire ecosystems. The installation alone will do that, but also whatever anti-corrosion, anti-growth coating on the outside that has to be somehow maximally thermally conductive will do that. The ocean is alive, it wants to be alive, and that life destroys metal and organic matter. It also just eats through petroleum products and every single type of coating we have invented.

So no matter what these will be coated in some toxic paint, that will need to be frequently reapplied, like within 6 months of application, because we want to keep thermal conductivity and barnacles and various other sealife are what I would think everyone can agree are ‘insulating’ layers.

So where-ever these are will have an entire town built up around them for the constant maintenance; which again involves constantly killing off everything that grows around them and on them, while leeching toxic materials to the environment.

  • Chud Etymology, excerpt from lesson six, Women, or How They Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love Self-Indulgent Misery

Foid <- Femoid <- Root 1: Fem android, implying women have no agency and are simply following society`s programming
<- Root 2: From Mongoloid, implying women are genetically inferior
<- Root 3: -oid (derogatory), used in english as a suffix to usually mean "having the likeness of or related to," meant to separate "Women (read: conservative trad-wife type idealized fantasy women)" and the rest of women.

  • Shh you’ll ruin the entire neoliberal western narrative that has caused the populations of the US and Europe to constantly disparage the single most advanced form of government proven so far. If they cannot fear monger about China being evil bloodthristy imperialists wanting to take Taiwan or propagandize Taiwan as being brave independent freedom fighters then all the other hundreds of billions of dollars in propaganda through hundreds of outlets in more than two dozen countries including extensive terror campaigns, the wholesale creation of several cults, and the world’s most extensive propaganda NGO in world history would all be for nothing.

They really don’t understand they’re the bad guys and not China, and it’d break their little hearts to find out China got that big without doing all the evil shit they did.

  • No, there’s just no point in painting a burning car or swapping the door hinges during a house fire or putting lipstick on a pig post slaughter.

You have to fix the core of the problem before you start worrying about the minor details that cannot meaningfully exist without the initial problem being solved. Creating this currency would not solve any problems whatsoever with the current state of the world. It would not improve anything.

You know how I know that? Bitcoin was the thing you are describing. How’d that work out? The same way literally any digital currency will work out while the concept of capital is allowed to exist. It will be bought, hoarded, and narrowly metered out in the absolute best case scenario. And all possible frameworks that could possibly avoid that fate are just the concept of socialism dressed up in increasingly silly and decreasingly useful abstractions.

If you want to have a nice sailboat you don’t start with the deck trimming. You don’t even start with the sails. You start building the framework of the hull and then possibly get to the finer parts later, when what you have won’t just be dunked in the ocean because you think you don’t need the entire rest of the boat to have a boat.

  • What state? Because it cannot be any european state. It can’t be any state in the Americas. It can’t be most asian countries. It absolutely cannot be Australia.

There is no state that is both already uncaptured by capital and palatable enough to avoid sanctions in the west. Since that’s the actual only reason sanctions exist, to punish those not currently fully captured by capital holders.

So it cannot be state backed.

Can it be insured without a state? Maybe, but then whoever insures it sets the rules for it. This is the problem with the Federal Reserve owning USD versus the US government. Can it be physically backed without a state? No.

If this magically came into existence in a state and was even slightly effective, that state would magically be developing nuclear weapons the next day and invaded. Just a reminder Gaddafi was doing what you’re proposing… and global capital was so mad he was allegedly anally penetrated by machetes while the entirety of the country was effectively destroyed.

Any solution that gains traction developed by a state would get that state eliminated.

And any solution not made by a state will either be a scam, be monopolized by capital as its an asset and someone will be willing to sell it, or will simply not catch on since businesses would find no incentive to use it in large enough numbers to function. You’d need half of a country’s economy, at minimum, to switch to that new currency for people to effectively circulate it. Which is why bitcoin never took off as a currency. Which is why no crypto will ever really be used as a currency outside spot transactions. Your employees need to be able to pay their taxes with it. Which in any country means the government approves of it, which means its not a threat to them, which for 150 countries means it is not in any way a threat to capital and can be fully controlled by it.

It’s a good solution for global socialism. And socialist countries wanting to make that transition away from the last vestiges of capitalism might find utility in a state-issued digital currency… as long as capitalism does not exist anywhere at any point at that time. Because it just takes one economy where you can buy this digital currency like any other commodity in exchange for USD or other currency that can buy goods; just one to ruin everything.

  • The US has never suspended elections however. During the civil war, during the war of 1812 when the white house was burned down, during every war on the mainland of the US, during the draft of Vietnam — the US has never stopped doing elections.

Most countries that suspended elections also did it last in a time before long distance communication was popular, much less instantaneous lossless communication being cheap and widely available. There’s no reason to use the excuse of ‘safety’ in the age of the internet.

The only real reasons to suspend elections in this century is incompetence or corruption. That’s it. Which do you believe is leading Ukraine or Russia?
