I love trying out new systems with one of my groups, so it’s hard to say which one is my favourite. So many good systems out there! At the moment, Avon is a strong contender closely followed by Monster of the Week.

I’ve had good experience with The Mines of Fara-Dul from 20 Dungeon Starters. Pretty straight forward and worked well to get a new group of semi-experienced players going.
Switching devices solved it for me. I’ve tried your steps on Android (both in Jerboa and Chromium) without success. But on desktop it worked somehow and now I’m successfully subscribed to both communities. Thanks midnight!
Do you have an idea why specific communities of federated instances don’t show up, e.g. !dungeonworld@ttrpg.network or !bassment@feddit.de ? When I search for them (either !x@y or https://y/c/x) I get no results, even after a few days of waiting.
Recently I’ve tried Blades in the Dark which from my perspective ticks a lot of your boxes. Simpler than D&D for sure, similar to PbtA in terms of rolls and character sheets, and set in a post-apocalyptic world (albeit Victorian era).
Other than that I love the flexibility of Savage Worlds with its kind of simple rules and many many different extensions for different settings. Good base for tinkering imho.
And of course if you mention PbtA, why not go with Apocalypse World?
Looks super good! I like the contrast between the caning and the dark wood and the handles.
Which finish did you use?
