Book 4 of the Wheel of Time (about half way through). Series has been something I’ve started on and off for 20 years, but picked up the first book after my Dad died a couple of months back and finding it a lot easier to stick with it this time around.

I’ve tried to get through it twice, but my interest/will dies around book 6 or 7. I just end up hating every character, the writing, everything. On the other hand I have friends who have read the entire series a couple of times and absolutely love it.

Well, the books die down in pace at around that point, and it can be a bit boring at times. But the story keeps its promises though, so might just keep reading through the slowdown part. When I read it roughly 20 years ago, I had the same issue and stopped at book 6. But now that I’ve given it a second shot, Im really glad that I stuck with it and will deffo read it again at some point (after my third reread of the expanse series, decent series for scifi lovers).

I might give it another try before I die. I had about 15 years between my attempts. I did enjoy The Expanse. The problem is, there are so many fantastic books out there that I haven’t read.
