This may or may not be an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely do not want to see a ton of Kirk in SNW. It isn’t about him, it’s Pike’s Enterprise. The pics make it look like he’s a main feature in the episode, and having two in one season like that is the wrong direction

@ThatOneBatTurd @ValueSubtracted I read in another post (so take it with a grain of salt) that the reason why SNW has shorter seasons is that Anson Mount doesn’t want to be too constrained in this role.
I have a feeling they might be preparing us for a change of leadership… 🤷‍♀️

Two things are an issue -

          1. Mount’s daughter and first child was born shortly before production of season two. He limited his availability to be with his child. As a Canadian, living in a country that has parental benefits and encourages dads to use them, I can get behind that.
          1. Mount has said that he disliked the experience of being on a soundstage 24 or more hours a day an prefers location shooting when possible. Due to COVID the timing of production shifted and some of the episodes (e.g., the fourth) that were supposed to have significant outdoor location shooting moved into the AR wall stage. So, some of Mount’s other appearances may have been pulled back.

I think that should be a pretty big grain of salt, given that every other series save Prodigy has seasons of exactly the same length (Discovery’s final season will also be ten episodes).

I’m going to choose to not believe that, haha. The series would definitely take a hit in my eyes if they prematurely transitioned to Kirk
