I run a few groups, like @fediversenews@venera.social, mostly on Friendica. It’s okay, but Friendica resembles Facebook Groups more than Reddit. I also like the moderation options that Lemmy has.
Currently, I’m testing jerboa, which is an Android client for Lemmy. It’s in alpha, has a few hiccups, but it’s coming along nicely.
Personally, I hope the #RedditMigration spurs adoption of more Fediverse server software. And I hope Mastodon users continue to interact with Lemmy and Kbin.
All that said, as a mod of a Reddit community (r/Sizz) I somewhat regret giving Reddit all that content. They have nerve charging so much for API access!
Hopefully, we can build a better version of social media that focuses on protocols, not platforms.
Jerboa is what I’m using, has a very old school android feel to it or Windows Phone
Clean and utilitarian. I hope it stays this way.
oh indeed, or at least have different UI options “legacy feel” and whatever new UI the dev comes up with :)
While this vertical format is comfy, there is always room for new perspectives to make view posts easier.
Is there anything even closer to rif is fun than Jerboa?
It’d be nice if we could have RIF open-sourced then expanded for Lemmy, especially expanding to different hosts
I’ve gotten the settings to be pretty similar to RIF which I used exclusively for the last ~10 years. The list view is crucial. Jerboa also has a feature that doesn’t show you posts that you’ve read or voted on which is handy. Let me know if you need any help finding these settings!
